OSM has decided to add in a stick shift only class for the 2010 season. Listed below are the rules. Rules may still need some tweaking and are currently open for discussion. I had thought about going with a heads up stick class but i feel this format will allow more cars. $40.00 membership fee applies as well as contingency payout eligibility & general rules. Payout will be listed below the rules.
STICK CLASS Manual transmission cars only. Cars are run off a handicapped tree and placed on a Sportsman ladder. Vehicles are not required to have a current registration. Body -Vehicles from a major manufacturer only. -Cars must have a working tail light. Engine -Nitrous, supercharger, turbo and fuel are unlimited. -Engine must be in stock location, and firewall must be in stock location. May be notched for clearance. -Motor plates and solid mounts are allowed. Transmission Manual transmission only. Lenco’s permitted. Clutch activated automatics and Bruno’s prohibited. Hand/Arm shifted levers only. No air shifters. All cars must leave the starting line with leg released clutch. Shifting without a clutch (clutchless style driving) is permitted. Electrical - Optical sensors, delay boxes, pedal magnets, air release, hydraulic clutch line lock systems and electrical or pneumatic throttle stops are not allowed. - If you have one of these racing aids in your car and they are hardwired in, they must be unplugged and or rendered inoperable. These boxes will be teched at anytime during qualifying and eliminations. Immediate disqualification and loss of points will be rendered if tech determines use of these functions. Data acquisition, rev limiters and wheel line locks are permitted. Disqualification Disqualification, (the pass will not count) for any of the following: crossing the centerline, use of above mentioned bracket racing aids, improper staging procedures, failure to report to staging lanes when called. Qualifying Stick Class cars will qualify for run positions and placed on a Sportsman ladder. Lane choice is determined by previous round reaction time. Eliminations Once eliminations start you must drive the same car in all rounds. No car/driver switch permitted. No buybacks. Class is run on personal dial in. Dial in may be changed between rounds. Driver/Crew is responsible for checking their dial in. Once driver stages you have accepted the posted dial in and no rerun will be permitted for any reason. PAYOUT 15+ cars: Winner: $200.00 R/U: $75.00 Semi: $30.00 Quarters: $15.00 Entry fee is $25.00

Kelly,
Do you have a max and min et / mph for the class? I would love to use this for testing purposes but I don't want to be run down by a low 9 second car. As I'm sure you already know, UMTR has two different classes which seems to help keep the fast cars from running us slower cars. I know you may not have a high enough car count to have two classes but it is something to think about. Let me know. Thanks.
