Glad you got the win Bob. That was a heck of an effort Brians team put together but it was very sprotsman like of you to wait for him to get to the lanes. You deserved it. Congrats.

Thanks! I still don't think it's totally soaked in yet. I've always wondered if I would win another event or be a one hit wonder after winning in OH in 2004. I've now succeeded in fulfilling a personal goal of mine. I signed the check and turned it over to my wife to pay for the fuel costs for the last two events so, I'm still broke as usual. I've always said that when the money is all gone I have the event plack to look at and remember the good time. I was glad to have my son Kris and my buddy Larry's son Nick there with me. I probably had the youngest crew at 15 and 20 years old. They layed in the dirt along side me and helped me swap the trans out between the first and third round of qualifying and I'm very proud of them. I figured there would be some carnage with Zoop and Brian running each other in the semi. Brian got the win but, hurt the motor and decided to change it for the final round. I went to the staging lanes when they called all finalists. The NMRA kept me informed with what was going on in Brian's pit and they said they were going to run the race in the scheduled order. They had Charlie Harmon down by his pit to oversee the activity. They told me that as long as it was within a reasonable timeframe they would like to run us side by side. I was fine with that. I was pretty bummed when I lost but, I know I didn't have quite enough for him and didn't want to burn it down trying. My car usually doesn't go any faster when I burn it up. I know from experience. I felt bad for Brian when they found him too light. I can just imagine how Brian and all the people that helped in the swap felt. There is so much to think about and it's an easy thing to miss. I'm sure he will never forget to adjust the weight if he does this in the future. Now I need to get busy and find another tenth or so in the car for PA.

Oh yea.....The Penny Story. Son Kris and I were walking to the fence at mid track where we were pitted after the first round of eliminations. We wanted to watch the SSO, 10.5 Outlaw, and Pro 5.0 cars. We were standing there and I picked up a penny and put it in my pocket as we left. I told Kris, this is my lucky penny. I raced Jay in the second round and needed a good light, low ET, and some luck since he had set the record the day before and was the number one qualifyer. It worked in my favor and the bye in the semi was a nice adder also. After the semi Scott Lovell stopped by to tell me that Brian had blown a head gasket and was changing a motor. He said he was looking for a fitting and I thought I had what he needed. I brought it over and headed back to my trailer. While I was walking back to my trailer, I looked down and saw a penny. I picked it up, put it in my pocket and told Kris I found another lucky penny. The rest is history. If you see me walking around the pits looking at the ground you will know what I'm up to:)
