I know this was just changed in Bradenton but was curious about the reaction of those that race the class. It does open the class up to Mustangs, Rangers, Explorers, Mountaineers as well as a couple of other vehicles.

The info:
The 4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L Modulars sport a 100 mm bore spacing and 90 degree bank angle. The 4.0L v6 sports a 110 mm bore spacing and is 60 degree bank angle.

Cool! That means my powerstroke ( By way of having a serpentine belt) Is "Modular"

Great...just what I am sure all of us wanted...rangers, explores, ect. I guess I don't have to race the mustang anymore. I will just bring my '97 explorer.

I do believe this got started by Paul Sevinki(sp?) The Powerhouse411 guys just thought that if Paul can run a V6, why can't they? And for clarification, the vehicles still have to meet the ET requirements, which they did quite well. I personally don't have a problem with it. It doesn't matter to me what you run. I would rather race a V6 turbo street car than a tubbed/ladder barred full on race chassised car anyday. But in the end, it doesn't matter to me.:)

Interesting. If it doesn't matter to you what you race against, why choose Modular Muscle and not Open Comp? With this new opening of the rules, I don't really see any difference in the classes. Maybe it's time to combine them like FFW did.

That will be the discretion of the NMRA I guess. i would hate to the Mod Muscle class go away, and I don't think its going to. I don't race Open Comp because I have exhaust.:)
