I have a few questions on the price of the proposed sponsorship deal that i'm working on now:) The owner of the company asked me how much would it be to put the sticker on the back window and the hood of my car and i told him that we would talk about that when we meet next monday and i wanted to see how i could help his business get going and what i could do for him and benefit both parties here....Now the good part. What's the going rate for different sticker( locations) on a race car? and what more should i ask for? This is all new to me and i don't wanna run the guy off or i don't wanna cut my own throat by asking for less...
Thanks

I am waiting for an answer to this too. I am very interested to find out. I know what I got paid for my doors last year and that was one race.

well what i did was.....
I emailed or called and talked to potential sponsors. With all the info at hand like why I wanted to run their products, and what made this class appealing and benificial to their business.
other wise, basically sticker location and or "worth" depends on what kinda deal you and a potential sponsor can make a deal on.
where as a Previous class champion may get the untimate deal with free parts, money etc. someone like myself may only get a discount % wise off of needed parts..... Basically I have a few sponsors....but nothing to major. Where as once i get my "base year" over with......hopefully moving on into 2007 will net bigger sponsorship deals. In my opinion, different is better. The more appealing a person, car, class can be to certain sponsors the better. "what's in it for me" always seems to come up with potential sponsors...in their first few questions. Which of course is bottem line.
good luck with it all.....and if you have any more questions........pm me or go to my website http://www.geocities.com/xtremben and join my forums....and I'll try and hook you up with some pontential sponsors for your class.

I would say it really depends on your past performance and how many races you can guarantee you will attend in 06. Also, what type of company you are looking to get sponsorship from. Are you looking for price breaks on parts or cash money. It's pretty hard to get cash even if you have a very good track record.

Parts would be nice but this sponsorship as nothing to do with automotive at all:D So it's a money deal here and some exposure(Local & national) for this company.

A general note on sponsorship that past/current success is not a requirement. That is important because it is one way to gain visibility, but note that it is as or even more important to represent and promote your sponsors. You are acting as a spokesperson so acting accordingly will do you well, even if not as successful as you would like to be.
I would say that's even more important than success actually. Success can improve your sponsorship situation but if you don't represent and promote that company, their dollars are not getting the return they could.

If & when this deal goes thru i will do my very best to represent the owner of company...I'm getting some crew shirts for my guys & Girl(wife) and looking into the cost of getting the logo sticker for my back window & hood...
