it does for me too. And especially right here at christmas time. I know when it first happened.Right after the hurricane we all saw what was goin on in New Orleans. But what about all the other surronding areas, around New Orleans, the gulf coast of Mississippi. Plus (even I am guilty of it) most people think about things like this right after it happened, then afterwards...just kinda play it off. Well until I saw what I saw yesterday. My wife had a friend in Slidell.......which was pretty hard hit. Lucky for them their house only had wind damage. They were only 1 of 3 in a whole community that didnt get any water damage from flooding. The sold out and moved to Alabama because not only did their community fold. But also both their jobs, and their childs school is closed indifently. So basically one day they left work thinking they would return on monday, and their whole world changed. And they were some of the lucky ones. Many people lost loved ones, both their automobiles.....basically everything.
makes ya think!

It was definatley one of the most testing times of my life. And I have been through a lot of stuff. Things are almost back to normal here now, with the exception of storm debris and the fact that I'm still waiting on FEMA and a carpenter to come and repair my house. We were all so excited when a glimmer of hope would arise. Such as, I will never forget the day that I came home from work and clean-up crews had cleared half of the roadway leading into my subdivision. Or more importantly, the evening that we got our electricity turned back on. And then after four months......we got our cable turned back on just in time to catch the Bowling Green coverage. We all tend to take life as we know it for granted. Look around and be thankful for the little things like your squeeky recliner, or your remote with half dead batteries that you have to shake to make work. Better yet, take time to call your grandmother or uncle that you haven't spoken to in awhile. It could all be gone before you realize it.
