Not sure the number, i know its very low 1.5s and that would be Shawn and probably Jaime Holten.

thanks bro!
the way I understand it, most of the mod cars are leaving somewhere between 5000-6000 where as the 5.0's are leaving from 3000-4200......is this true?

Sounds right to me.
I remember BG 2004.
Jamie had a 1.44 60' show up on the board. :D
thanks bro!

Most would believe that the 1.44 was a timing error or a fluke as he was not near that on other runs but either way Jamies car always worked very well. With steel flywheels (proposed for 2006) 1.5's are going to be tough to get. This past year Shawns car averaged in the high 1.5's with a best of 1.53 leaving at 6800 rpm/no 2-step. If you are in the low 1.6 to high 1.5 range I wouldn't change much.

how do you guys like two steps? I never cared much for em when i raced automatics.......as they seem to put to much strain on the crankshaft and rods.......although I may have had mine setup wrong.....i actually never really gave it a chance
I still have it, although its like 12 years old lol
how does the steel vs aluminum flywheel fit the equation? I know I've heard people say leaving at a higher rpm was actually easier on the drive line parts.........and that the aluminum flywheel helped with "tire shake"........(never had tire shake before that will be a first). I'm full of questions. I want to buy my parts, but I want to buy them once not three times........ya know!

Hey there,
Thats what all of us thought we were doing too. Not picking on you just with these guys running the show you never know.
For instance all of the parts housing included for my rearend would be illegal for next year. Bought parts once that way I could use them as I moved up. Now illegal.

yea that does suck. no doubt. I'm trying to buy just what I have to have for now. I started with shifter, heads, intake......so I still have to buy tires,wheels,clutch,gear....but like I said hopefully when they get all these rules worked out, I'll have very little to purchase.....to run.
like i stated before this is my baseline year, just want to make a few shows....then in '07 hopefully can run a full schedule (if I can aquire a few sponsors). Hopefully the rules won't change much over this years....to '07!
I pretty much have a one sponsor now......with a suspension company. Hopefully I can make a good showing for them in the 60ft arena....then with a little more backing, go on to '07 with a competitive car.
Like I said, I'll be asking lots of questions. Even if I think i know my final answer.....the right decisiion could change that.
thanks
Jack

I don't care for them with a stick shift car and drag radials.
how does the steel vs aluminum flywheel fit the equation?
The aluminum flywheel hits the tires with less inertia giving them a chance to gain traction.

Yeah, what he said!
I have used a two step on and off and can't really say that I find it to be a big advantage if any at all. There are both good and bad things that they seem to bring to the situation but I find myself not using the two step as often as not using it.
