Well I was going to wait for the new rules but who really cares. I will be pulling both my cars and my 3rd (06 GT) out of all NMRA competition.
The time has come to actually MAKE some money and not just keep investing, so Factory Stock will lose 2 more cars.
Hope all my friends nothing but best of luck. Talk to all soon.

Damnit Carlos, you better be drunk or something. No more FOOD!, I know you can't go without mom and dad's cooking!:D
Sounds to me like he wants to have more than a FS car so he needs to stop spending like a madman on this class. I can completely understand that.
Good luck to you and you're business.

Thats the only thing I would be missing is the best damn racing folks I've ever ran against and became friends with.
I have many reasons why not to return and anyone who has raced F/S already knows the pros and cons and cons and cons..lol
Ed, the GTOs are great, but forgetting the NMRA doesnt require that much effort.
Jeff, I'm already #1 with the mods as far as not spending a small fortune.
I will make it to a Leslie family bbq though.
Realistically guys, I can make much more money racing in other organizations or locally for that matter. Kenny Cook is sticking by me and will continue to drive the coupe.

I talked with my Yankee Brother today and I believe even without the rules changing deal he was going to hold up a little bit. I can completely understand also with his decisions as I have at one time thought about getting out because it is just ridiculous what we spend on these cars and they are not street drivers anymore. When I first started F/S I could drive my car around on the weekends and have fun with it, now with some of the stuff that's in it........well it ain't fun to drive unless you go a 1/4 at a time. Just you boys wait and see My Yankee Brother will be back before long running with us again, hell all that happened was he got smart on us:D . I can tell you one thing for sure and that is Ellen and I will surely miss the hell out of see'n ya at the track this coming year, but we will keep in touch.

Carlos,
What can I say? You are truely a class act and the sport will be a lesser place without you. I understand fully however the need to compete at a different level. I mean afterall.....skateboard punks are making more money than us doing jackass movies.

We will be chillin in my pool killing beers while you guys are stressing out with weights, fuel checks & breakage. :D ....Well maybe no pool for the first 3 races...Gotta wait for the ice to melt first. hehe
Gonna have some fun racing each other at Island & Atco come Spring time.
I talked him into letting me run slicks on the coupe as we go head to head.

Thats the funniest thing I have heard in awhile, but so freakin true. I went to
"get rich skateboarding punks" website :( no lightweight bearings, no "sexwax" allowed under boards, front and rear stoppers to be of rubber only no urethane allowed, and no aluminum flywheels (must be a california thing). Geeez, I cant get a break.

just messin with ya Ed. However, I am not a big chevy fan, sure the LS1's are running pretty good these days. And they are still IMHO considered "the underdog" between ford vs chevy.......(I can not actually believe I am saying that... as long as ford was the literal "underdog" in the chevy vs ford battle since the early years.) Probably only because the aftermarket world WENT FREAKING NUTS following ford for the first time ever. The Mustang is the 55-57 Chevy of the Present, and my goodness isn't it nice to be on the receiving end of great parts, for a change. I can remember days (I'm sure ed can too) when you could pick up a stock chevy head out of a junkyard...for next to nothing and it would be a pretty decent performer. Where as Ford didnt offer much of anything. Or not nearly as cheap or as availbile as chevy.
My, ...times have change'd........I can just hear those whining chevy guys now, ah remember "the good ole days". Hell boys the GOOD OLE DAYS are NOW!........especially for us ford guys!
oh yea and last but not least. If I had my choice of a LS1 or a 87-93 Mustang........I'd choose the Mustang 100 out of a 100 times. Y you may ask........cause in my book CHEVY STILL SUCKS! (no offence to you "Ryan Hecox" and this comment was only meant as a para pharse, it is not intended to stir the chevy guys, or not to the point where they all for a possie and hunt me down and shoot my dog or anything! lol)

Midg....I would rather mop the floors at a peep show than to race LS-1's. But don't tell nobody about the three runner-ups in an LT-1 that I have. Seriously though, the LS-1 Heads-Up scene is exploding around here.

I used to say that my 99 Cobra would have been damned near perfect if it had come from the factory with a live axle and an LS1.
Please don't hang me for that. :)

Bob,
You know me.....I bleed Blue Oval. However, no one can argue with the power that the LS-1's are making. Another thing is the turn-outs at the LS-1 races. I shoe a car in modified stock n/a and every year we have to use a 32 car ladder. The turn-outs remind me of when I first started Mustang racing back in '98.

Amen to that! It really is unfortunate that you can't get that motor in a decent car.
Except maybe for the CTS-V (which looks more like a GTO than a GTO).
...but I just can't roll in a Caddy.

Man, there's a good Rick Moranis joke in there somewhere.
Is there a webpage where we can find out about this LS-1 racing?
HOLY CRAP! THEY STILL HAVEN'T COME OUT WITH THE RULES YET?!!

Actually we have a 92 Coupe with an LS1 out of the LME group here in Houston. The gentleman who owns the car has had one of the fastest LS1s in this area for a long time. The Coupe recently went 10.20s on motor (nitrous motor)...can't wait to see it run with the direct port kit.
But then again I love mustangs so much more.

Depends on your feelings about a street car...
My GTO barks and snorts sorta-like a race car with the cam and compression it has, but the CD player cranking, A/C blasting and it's very docile exterior appearance, it sure says "street car" to me....
At 3900+ race weight and running 11.70's naturally aspirated, I guess it's a toss up whether you'd still consider it a street car...

Here's a thought.....How about really oening Factory Stock up and letting ALL vehicle makes and types in. Could you imagine what kinda cries of predjudice we would hear of then? They, We, Us and Them need a Factory Stock type class over on the Pro Series side of things. Maybe JL could try this in Joliet.
