more people take interest than Just the people who raced in NMRA Factory Stock in years past.......there are many potential racers who would love to race in FS. Many don't have the funds or sponsors to travel all over, and certainly many don't have the funds or sponsors to build a car that is Totally not streetable anymore to compete in one or two races a year. People wonder why the car count is low.....average 10-12 per event.....here's a hint or two.....COST of building a FS car and it being Totally a track car from that point on (if its built to be able to win). Sure there are a few people riding around with an overdrive and a 4.30 gear but those are few and far between. But I doubt you will find many with spools, proshifted trannys, and engines that are so "race bread" that it won't be reliable nor economical on the street.

Thats just an opinion of a potential one or two event maker.....if everything goes well. The class has appeal, but it also has it's draw backs. I can understand it sucking because of the rule changes which cost current racers more money but I can also see it being a good thing for potential racers that the rules will be more "buyer friendly" when building a future FS car. And while I'm doing all my yacking......from what I've seen with the 4V vs 2V vs pushrod 5.0's.........the 4V obviously has an advantage over both the 2V engines and 5.0's. The obviously rev quicker and higher easier with the little short lifters with the tit on it than a big long pushrod. Of course the draw back is the price of the 4V is much higher than an entry level 5.0 fox body car. So there are pro's and con's....no doubt!
NMRA has done a really good job "trying" to equalize two totally different generations of Mustangs. I applaud them for that. The bad note here is not everyone will be happy. Everyone being happy will NEVER happen no matter what you do. Just like Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge in Nascar. The sactioning body does it's best......and let the rest fall where it may!....That has to happen. One thing I do see that NMRA could possibly do is ......."IF" they see one car dominating over another then they could possibly make a rule change in the middle of a season. Again everyone will NOT be happy. But If you think chevy would lay back if FORD was wining every race in nascar? heck no. Would ford or dodge would do the same. Not a chance. So basically its gonna be whom ever has the best voice to the rule's makers, that is what will have the final say in the whole deal.
I personally just hope the rules come out equal as they can,.. and everyone has fun, and that NMRA and the fans all see an increase in car count, and everyone can just get along.

Jeezus:

Talk about some loudmouth a$$holes that know a lot more about 4V motors than they do about class racing (*EDIT: In that Corral thread)

And they think 9.30 N/A in a Pro Stock chassis is fast. LOL!
