Well, if you cant keep up in DR with a nitrous combo, there is always Renegade....

Very interesting....it'll be fun to see how it works out for you guys....let's face it, the class will prob. be an 8.5 - 8.6 sec. class when it's not 800 thousand degrees out, so you've got to find a way to get the nitrous guys to that level. Extra cubes seem to be a good way to get them there. Might be a bit too much help though...3200lbs seems kinda light. I don't know....

You guys better hope Kurt doesn't come back at 400ci with a bottle!!

OOOOOOOoooohhhh wait, everyone's heard that Rich Groh might come out in REN, what if he had 400ci/bottle.....mmmmmm....interesting eh?

we must be seeing it differently. This is the way I see it.

Weight Breaks:
POWER ADDER BASE CI WEIGHT
Nitrous Oxide 311 2700
Nitrous Oxide 360 2900
Nitrous Oxide 400 3200
Supercharged 311 3200
Supercharged 360 3350

Maximum Cubic Inch – 410 ci

4.6L/5.4L Modular engines may deduct 150 lbs.

Note: 10 lbs/cu in penalty applies for cubic inches over weight break limit.

From what I see it's 400ci @3200 10lbs per ci over limit. So a 410ci nos motor would have to weigh 3300lbs

Let's see... 200lbs for 49ci difference between the 311 & 360 combo's.

Now... 300lbs for 40ci difference between the 360 & 400 combo's.

How much is 40ci worth? Is it worth the extra 300lb weight?

I don't see where the "break" is let alone "all the breaks"

Happy Holidays All!!!

The way I see it, the only competitive nitrous combo listed is the 400ci @ 3200lbs. Kurt was at 358 - 360ci back in 2004 and he leaned HARD on and killed his stuff just to qualify decently before he switched to the slowcharger. And I'm sorry Tommy-Dub, but I just don't see a small cube nitrous car running an 8.60. 400ci, hell yes. That's a hot setup, maybe too much. 10lbs/per ci over min. weight is a stiff penalty, so I'd assume you'd want to keep your cubes right at the listed #.

Man, 400ci nitrous car with DFI, twin dry foggers, 3200lbs, that's a hot setup. I'd love to have a new car with two motors: A brand new 05 Stang, 25.5 and the Swill motor w/the new Vortech, and a 400ci setup like I mentioned a few sentences ago. I wonder if Randy(PER) is going to try this big cube combo?

One thing to keep in mind, Kurt & Larry were running @ 3100 - 3150lbs with the same combo they could run @ 2900 now. All things being equal I think 200lbs would be worth 1.5 tenths?

Tommy-Dub?:p I luv ya man!

The best part is if you are between 391 & 399 ci you have to weigh more than the 400ci combo.

But hey, look on the bright side.....4.18x bores are now legal  (don't need no stinkin sleeves!!!):D

thats not how it works...that 10lbs per cube is just for a safety net...you wouldnt have to weigh more than the next step....ive talked to tech about this...
4.18x were aways legal...just have to take some stroke out....:)

Did I read that right only 1 intake gasket allowed ? I personally run 2 stacked as I've been running the same intake for a few years now and have milled it a bunch of times.

Also r we ever going to be able to tow are cars back from the end of the track ?

So what is the cut off for 10lb/ci?

What would a 393 have to weigh?

3200......it goes like this...its 10 lbs per cube up to the next higher weight...
so a 389 would be 3190....and 390-400 would be 3200...a 410 would be 3300...

So is everybody fine with only 1 intake gasket ? I see a need for a rule but do we realy want to get into having to order custom intake gaskets to reach 1/8" ?

Just wondering?????

the trick flow gaskets are .062 and .125 (1/8")...and they are just a hair bigger than the 1262r....thats what we use.....the 1262r's are .090....

I run 2 1262R's. That puts me at .180, so right off the bat I'm screwed. I just don't think that .180 is going to give a hp advantage. Plus it gives a new racer or a racer that just bought a new intake years of use. At 1/8 or just 1 gasket if your intake gets messed up just a little your going to have to get another one.
