need some advice on what to use,i got the felpro mls,so far i don't like them, torched the head twice with a way safe tune up, plus they leak water bad.last time it torched the head plugs looked good (egt 1190). i know a lot of people love them, but i'm about ready to o ring the block again and use the graphites, or the copper again, need some opinions thanks

Larry,
We went back to coppers for last season, after running the Cometics and torching the heads several times. Worked great for us...

I've had good luck with the SCE copper gaskets and stainless steel o-rings in the block. I like the SCE gaskets because, part of the gasket sticks out toward the intake side and it holds the intake gasket from sliding down when you put the lower on.

thanks guy's, i might go with the clark coppers,i heard they are softer and seal better,i used the sce brand with hi temp copper silicone, but they would leak fairly quick, i might try using hylomar, heard it works better than the silicone

My heads have receiver grooves. I know some would not recommend it but, SCE tech does. I use Permatex Copper spray and a light film of sealer around the water passages. Too much coating will heat up and burn away; this will create a gap causing a leak path. By the way, if you lift any head gasket it will probably leak water or cylinder pressure. Make sure your deck and heads are flat. If not, you are wasting your time.
