After talking with Charlie it doesn't look good for us right now. There is still hope if we pull together and show we can support The Valley with car count. In the past there have been attempts at the class with minimal participation. We need to do two things to possibly still bring the class back to OHIO VALLEY.

1. Everyone that can, needs to stop by and talk to Terry at Carl Casper's this weekend about the 8.5 class that WILL be making the three planned races.

2. For the 10-12(or more) that said they'd definitely make the races I'd like to see about maybe getting the first race entry fee up front by Saturday so I can present it to Terry myself to show that we are serious about racing this year and will support the class. The fee will be $50 and I'd even propose to those that want to send in for all 3 races a special price of $120 up front by Friday. The money will be returned to everyone ASAP if things don't work out. I just feel if we have proof instead of the "yeah I'll be there " approach, Terry may be persuaded much easier.

This is our last shot at proving we can support the 8.5 class. I personally don't feel we need to go this far out of our way to prove we belong, but respect the Huff's decision based on past class participation. Initially, I had over 18 cars that showed interest in making all or some races. Lets pull together and make this thing happen. I need everyone to call me that wants to pay up front (by Saturday) for the races, so I know to be looking for your payments in the mail. My cell number is 812-670-0021. If no answer leave a message. Planned payout is $800, $200,$50, $50.

Mail payment to: Check or Money Order Please

Up to 11 and 8 are for all three races. Looks like a lot of BB's are coming to play this year! There are 9 new cars for 8.5 this year that I'm aware of. Well 10 if you count our car after all the money and changes we made. Nothing like spending Art's money like my own.

I just got back from the car show with Vernon. After speaking with Terry about the 8.5 class for over an hour with my gun loaded and listening to Terry and his reasoning, it has been decided that for now there will not be an 8.5 class at the April race. Terry's concern is that with 7 classes already scheduled The Valley is going to have a hard time getting everyone out by midnight. Now some of this is because of lets say inefficiencies by racers and the track. These issues are going to be addressed this year to try an help speed the program along. The Valley has it's act together this year and it really saddens me that we're not going to be a part of the April race, which is the biggest fan turn out too. He wants to put on a good show for the fans and get them home at a decent hour. Starting off the first race in his mind with to many classes may cause for the fans to miss the finals because they are ran to late, not to mention dew starts to set in after 10 or so. Terry did offer some alternatives like racing on another Saturday or even on Friday. His final words to us were to give him a chance to get through the April race so he can have a fair assessment of how much time will actually be needed. If there is sufficient time for the 8.5 class then we can work something out for some other months like May, July and September. I told Terry that I understand his point and respect his decision, although I don't necessarily agree with it. The worse thing we can do is bash The Valley. I'd like to thank those that tried with me to get this thing going for April by sending payment in advance and for those that stopped by at the booth to talk to Terry. There is still hope, but nothing is in stone. I will meet or call Terry after the April race to get a final decision to see if there's room for us or not. Also, I was told that there were other at the car show lobbying for us as well- Charlie, Art McMahon, Billy and Jason from VP even offer up a barrel of fuel if Terry allowed the class. For those that sent payment, I will be sending it back to you Monday. Thanks again!

Thanks for the help. The only sure thing is the OSM and as of know and no unforseen things, we will be at all of them. You have made the commitment now it is our turn to stand by you. Who knows with good car count maybe we can get the purse upped along with spectator participation.

Good to talk to you at some lentgh. Hope to see you soon at Columbus. Got the motor in tonight. Now to figure out where all the other stuff goes. Good thing David is around. Oh well, maybe not.
