Racing Seats ???

Hello,
When you change to racing seats ,is there anything different on how they are mounted? I have stock seats in the car now and would like to upgrade. Do I have to attach them to the roll ball or can they be just mounted to the floor like the stock seats?

They have to be mounted to the roll bar, too...NHRA rule...Most people make custom brackets to mate the race seat to the factory holes/studs on the floor. And some people mate them to the factory seat tracks...Jegs has cool seat bracket to mount it to the roll bar.

HEY Chalie you've got mail. I helped Al with the mounting of his seats. I sent him some 1" by 1" tube aluminum and mounted the tube to the original seat track and seat to the tube and made adjustments for the lean back and made up a clamp to bolt it to the rollbar with the support coming from the seat.I hope Al doesnt mind me sharing this classified info,he is a pilot and might do a flyby on me:eek: I hope it helps yaa:) I finally got these smily faces figured out thanks to the P/S reining champ,maybe I can get some Pure Street secrets from him next:D

Alright Steve I was gonna take it easy on yaa at Bradenton and only run a 50 shot but know I'm gonna put a 150 shot plus a nail dispencer under the car to shoot nails in the other lane;) How did that nail dispencer get under there:confused: :D Oh yaa dont you drive a gator ?

Thank's for all the help! I'm really not ready yet! Just thnking about them. I lost 18 lbs. since last year and still working on some more! So that should make up for seats! LOL! I'm about to buy a backup tranny so money is tight now! By the way!!! Let's Go Irish!!!! I might be from Penn State Country , but my heart is in South Bend!

I went and got some racing seats. To good of a deal! Do I have to mount both to the rollbar or just the drivers seat! I have them in and got the brackets from Jegs. I have the drivers seat done. If I don't have to brace the passenger seat I won't!

No, just the driver's seat has to be mounted to the roll bar, and the floor. Just bolt the passenger seat straight to the floor.
