Diesel hit $3.49 a gallon here in Michigan. We put on about 15k miles to attend events and racing related trips. If I average 12 mpg, WOW $4,350 for fuel alone.

I wonder if the NMRA considers racers expenses when they look at payouts?

I would like to know how much money out of pocket the NMRA loses every year to go racing. I know how much I lose to come make them money.

I figure it is better to spend the money racing (at some level) than to waste it on chemical/alcohol related substances, at the casino or wife's impromptu shopping sprees...

Then again, most of my money now goes to daycare, formula, diapers, etc., all of which is a mortgage payment each month...

$3.49, thats a bargain. i was at Mobil yesterday and diesel was $3.85:eek:

we live here in the midwest where 4 of the events are within 8hrs of us and the fuel expense is bad enough. i feel bad for you guys up in the northeast, aside from Atco, whats the closest event for you guys? i dont wana think of the expense there, ouch.

Today it was up to $3.64:eek:
Fuel will definately control our 2008 attendance.

We'll have 11 weeks of down time to save our $ (pennies ain't doin it) for fuel.
