Since we're on the subject of rules, how about some non parity rules to help car counts (as well as 1st time racers getting their feet wet.)

1) how about 1st Race Fuel Check waiver....

It may intice local racers to come out and see if they like the class. If they want to pursue it further, then they have to get with the program. After all, isn't this NMRA's "Entry Level Heads Up Class".
Doesn't have to apply to anyone with a single or dubble digit car #. (anyone in the top ten).

2) under Tires: Any DOT legal tire.... Any brand, any size, any compound, any wear rating.

Just some thoughts.... I know some people are going to argue the tire thing, but it would increase car counts.

I think this is a bad idea. There are way too many scenarios where the good intentions of this rule would come back to bite the dedicated racers in the class. Here's one:

It's toward the end of the season and Racer A has been racing all year and is currently 11th in points. A local racer comes, gets a one race waiver on fuel and beats Racer A in the first round causing Racer A to finish the season at number 11.

That's only one example of how this rule could really screw up the people (like yourself) that show up to alot of racers and follow the rules.

This is true, good point Ken.

If that same racer could beat me without going thru fuel check, there's a 99 percent chance he could do it without this rule. IMO

Realistically, anyone who competes in at a minmum 4 races will be in the top ten. Competing in all the events is a guaranteed top 10 regardless of rounds made.
