What tire would last longer on a car that runs 5.70's to 6.0's ?

MT or BFG ?

I know the MT will hook better, people are asking for a tire that will last long time. Currently we run a 26x8.5 et drag and the sidewalls wear out after 2 races. People are wanting a tire that will last longer.

Here are my thoughts on drag radials.

Nitto- Lastalong time. Not quite the hook.
BFG's- Don't last as long as the Nitto's, but hook much better
M/T & Goodyears- Hook very well. Don't last too long on the street as far as the M/T's go. Haven't heard any data on how long the Goodyears last, but I'd guess similar to the M/T.
And I'm assuming you're wanting them to last on the street also. If not, my bad. :)

This question is not directed towards the street at all. Currently, we race in a heads up class in the OSM. The tires we are using pretty much suck. The sidewalls break down after 2 races. All the drivers want a better tire that will last longer. So the suggestion was brought up to change the tire from a 26x8.5 et drag to a 275 drag radial. One if the drivers said that he thinks the BFG will last the entire year versus the MT that will wear considerably faster.

So I am trying to see if anyone has had these same experiences. I know the hook will be better with the MT.

I ran mid 1.4s 6.5s in the 1/8th 10.20-30's on motor then played with a 100shot the 275/60 MTs lasted all year and they still have some life left. I didnt even pick up much ET going to a set of 325-50-15's Now I have a set of 28x10.5 stiff wall tires and didnt pick up much ET with those either. High 5's would he interesting on those tires. Like the 8.5's they are tougher than real slicks to make work.
