Ok im sure alot of you are wondering what happened at Saturdays race regarding payouts and if OSM is still going to be around. First off let me say that YES we are still going to be here, we arent going anywhere! After the June 3rd race (a months notice) we announced we would have to cut the purses in order to keep things going and that if car counts were low we would have to adjust them further. Well that is exactly what happened yesterday. Gary and I had a drivers meeting after 1st round of qualifying and explained the situation. We felt letting everyone know as soon as possible was the best way. The racers were told exactly how we go about figuring the purse (which is based on car count and spectator fees ONLY) We do not get the full gate amount nor do we get anything from concessions. Therefore we have a very limited budget and we have to work with what we get. Your entry fees go directly to making up the purse plus the percentage of the gate. So you can see why car count is so important to us.

The racers were told what the payouts were going to be for this race. They had the choice of running for those payouts or we could cancel the race and start over at the August 5th race. It was still pretty early in the day so we knew we would get a few more spectators (which we did) so we were able to payout a bit more than we had told them, thankfully. I asked anyone if they had a problem with what was going on to please let me know so we could make a final decisions. Everyone agreed to race, so we did. So there is no confusion, the payouts ended up being:

Pro Outlaw
W - 900
RU - 300
Semi - 100

True Street
W - 700
RU - 200
Semi - 75

Outlaw 8.5
W - 300
RU - 100
Semi - 30

These amounts are not far from the current payout structure. I feel that we did the best we could under the circumstances and i appreciate everyone for wanting to stay and race. That clearly showed us that you guys are not in this for the money. All we can do is hope that we get a better spectator and car count for the next time. I will be busting my butt to draw more people in. Also, coverage WILL be in Drag Illustrated's next issue from all 3 races. I will be working on writing all that up this week. And i am still working on getting more sponsorship. Guys this is only our 3rd race ever. It will get better from here. Once this season is over i will that much more to show potential sponsors for next season. Some sponsors that i spoke with earlier in the year were hesitant because we were just starting out. My hope is that if they can see that we can survive on the little we have, they will know how much we all want this to work and hopefully they will jump on board. Thanks again to everyone involved for your continued support!

But thankfully everyone was cool about it and i didnt come home with any black eyes lol. It really meant alot to me that everyone stayed & raced. We're picking up new sponsors and i will have some more announcements on that soon :) Cya in August!

Yes i have been thinking on it, and i will be looking into it further. We probably wont be adding it in for this year with only 3 races to go but next year is certainly a possibility ;)
